Warm-ups:
1.  A ball has a volume of 3 cm.  It’s mass is 108 grams.  Does it float or sink?
2.  What is the mass of an object whose density is 2.5 and has a volume of 6 mL?
3.  A can of corn sinks.  It’s mass is 382 grams.  Tell me about it’s volume.
Objectives: Predict floating/sinking based on density.
Announcements: Hand me your proposal with all the names of your participants.  Diver due on Tues., Sept. 20
Continue With your predictions, test the ones you are unsure of calculate the density.  Graph.
Make a density column:  Which is most & least dense?
Find the mass and volume of 10 pennies as accurately as you can.
Access a site like webelements.com and use that to verify whether a penny made of pure copper.  Explain.
Homework: Start building your "cool" diver.  Bring it to school Monday.
